Melbourne Cup Day 2021 was not free of death

The three-year-old filly Mikki Mouse is the second Melbourne Cup Day 2021 victim that we hear about. While the world’s eyes were on whether a horse would die in Flemington, Mikki Mouse suffered a fractured posterior tibia on the Morphettville Trail in SA and was subsequently killed. Racing.com edited the replay footage and the stewards’ report was postponed from publication until well into the next day. Mikki Mouse joins The Grinder, who also lost his life on Melbourne Cup Day in Randwick as his @Chris Waller Racing folks celebrated their Melbourne Cup victory. At least one horse is killed every 2.5 days on Australian racetracks. This is not a Melbourne Cup issue. This is a horse racing problem. Rest in peace sweet Mikki mouse. We are so sorry. Accept the promise never to bet on or take part in a horse race 👉

  1. this horror show must ending, This Is a Animal Cruelty !

  2. Сумно и прикро щоб вижити а цьому світі всі живі розумні істоти повинні працювати 😞😩🥺🦄🥰

  3. I am Irish and I am ashamed to say that my government actually funds this circus of death in Ireland using taxpayers money. Sad to say that the horses killed on the track are probably luckier than the ones that are bred by this industry and deemed not "good" enough, injured or past their best. The racing industry is not funding any happy ending for them, that's for sure.

  4. I used to work at a race track making meals for the jockeys and setting up decorations but the first race I saw was horrible, I quit on the first day
