Unlike most traditional sports and other esports games, Counter-Strike doesn’t have a set transfer window within which teams buy, sell or trade players. Transfer activity is usually higher during tournament breaks in summer and winter, but we haven’t seen many blockbuster plays this year.
apEX and zonic will reportedly work together on Vitality
Why is it starting to happen now? Well, the majors in CS: GO are the ultimate target. It’s the events that every player qualifies for, that they want to participate in and ultimately win. Organizations want to be a part of it, not just because majors target their team and sponsors, but also because of the huge cash injections they provide through in-game stickers.
The scoring system of the regional major rankings, which penalizes teams for changes to their five-man line-up with a 20% penalty, discouraged some teams from making changes unless they were absolutely necessary. Others were happy with what they had, but disappointing results ahead of the PGL Major Stockholm or at the event changed their minds. In addition, many player contracts will expire near the end of the year, so swaps are inevitable.
All of this combined for interesting changes that are listed in this article – which we will continue to update in the coming days.

FallN and Coldzera in talks about building up the Brazilian squad
The biggest topic of conversation since the major ended was the reported reunion of Gabriel “TrapN” Toledo and Marcelo “Coldzera” David, first broken by Jaxon.

Report: Magisk, dupreeh, zonic to Vitality
Vitality overhauls the roster with the Astralis trio for 2022
Another bombshell was dropped shortly after Vitality was eliminated from the PGL Major in the quarterfinals when 1pv.fr revealed that a Franco-Danish merger was imminent.
Richard “Shox” Papillon, Jayson “Kyojin” Nguyen Van and trainer Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam is reportedly on his way out of the team but is expected to play for Vitality for the rest of the year. That’s because Emil “Magisk” Ripe, Peter “Dupreeh” Rasmussen and Danny “Zonic” Sørensen will have to wait for his Astralis contract to expire before he can take on a new challenge in his career.
Evil geniuses turn a new (old?) Page
Stanislaw, oBo, MICHU departure EG
The prime example of a team that’s well past its expiration date but still stuck together are Evil Geniuses. The move paid off as, despite their terrible shape, they miraculously secured a place with the major all year round.
At the actual event, of course, they had no chance, and shortly after the 3-0 draw, the organization announced radical changes in the team. Evil Geniuses now consists of three members: Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov, Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte and trainer Damian “Daps” Steele – a core trio whose history goes back to 2017 and NRG. Peter “Stanislaw” Jarguz, Owen “OBo” Schlatter and Michał “MICHU” Müller have become free agents.
The NRG trio is everything that stayed on EG

FunPlus Phoenix discontinues CS: GO division
FunPlus Phoenix, a relevant team for most of the year, got into a rough patch over the summer and failed to qualify for the major, and practically signed their own death warrant. The Chinese organization withdrew from CS less than a year after signing the team with Martin “STYKO” Styk and Co., with all five players now on the transfer list.

Spirit to rebuild the squad: “The potential of the project has not been fully exploited”
The CIS squad, which ranked 6th in the world in early 2021, had struggled to reach the same heights over the year as the inability to hit PGL Major Stockholm’s top 16 was the last nail in the coffin for one the longest was a permanent five-man squad.
Spirit first announced that they would be with star rifleman Nikolay. would rebuild “Mir” Bityukov and IGL Leonid “Chopper” Vishnyakov was put on the transfer list a few days later. The team currently plays with Robert “Patsi” Isyanov and Aleksandr “KaiR0N-” Anashkin instead of the duo on the way out.
