Open the STEAM library, select CS: GO, select Properties, then Set startup options, and enter the following instructions:

-novid – Removed the opening film in the game.

-high – Start the game in a high priority mode.

-freq x (60, 75, 120, 144, 240) Hz – Choose a refresh rate.

  • -threads – The game can use the number of cores or threads (if your processor supports Hyper-Threading [ru.wikipedia.org]) on the processor.
  • -nod3d9ex – The technique of reducing the frames per second to eliminate an error that occurs when playing the game for a long time – only works on DX8 graphics cards … was around.
  • -noaafonts – It eliminates font smoothing.
  • -lv -The game is played in reduced cruelty mode.
  • + exec autoexec – Runs a .cfg file with instructions to increase the FPS.

You made some mistakes in your article on CSGO FPS improvement. A lot of the points mentioned * will * improve FPS – to be sure. But the proportion of startoptions is 100 percent wrong:

-novid … The FPS are not affected, but the annoying opening of the game is removed.

-high … you do nothing – not even process priority … you can try. 0 Influence in idle with percentages below 70% CPU utilization

threads … It’s an outdated recommendation I’ll show you in a moment. Even Valve developers said this tip shouldn’t be followed as it results in lower FPS in every scenario.

– Trial heaps … It’s no longer very useful for anything, and it hasn’t worked for three years.

-nod3d9ex … the only warning you will get for this is it won’t work on DX8 graphics cards … you can check the age of this “tip” etc …

-noaafonts … They patched it for years before I even played Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. It wasn’t added to CSGO because Valve doesn’t know about this startup option … and they document everything that’s out of date.

-no fun … The Panorama UI update fixed this.

-lv … It’s not really out of date. It was never used in CSGO. It’s an option for L4D.

+ exec autoexec … you should just add it if you still have your autoexec in the wrong place and the FPS are not going up at all.

There are two on a low-end PC and a high-end PC that both examine the FPS output after “tweaking” these 1337 startup options to improve the FPS. So what did they find? They found that 99% of the experts had 100% snake oil. Both used the FPS benchmark map to run numerous runs and calculate the average FPS.

This is at the bottom of the scale. It’s German but I think you can understand the exams as the results are presented in English. One of the 1337 startup options suggested by a guy on this thread is shown in Test # 19. A test with optimized settings is shown in test # 20.

Here you can see the same tests I ran myself on a high-end PC. We found that the best startup settings do NOT include any of these suggested items in these two tests.

-novid, -console and maybe -tickrate 128 when playing Faceit or training Smokes, Flashes and other Nades on an offline server are the best options for maximum FPS.

Open the Start menu and go to My Computer, then right click in the empty area in the opened window and select Properties. Open System Preferences, select the Advanced tab and click the Performance radio button. Uncheck all items in the list to prevent your operating system from appearing up-to-date. Your operating system may not seem up to date, but performance will improve significantly.

Right click the disk where CS / Windows is saved and choose Properties from the menu. Select Tools, then Defragment Now and Disk Defragmenting from the drop-down menu.
