The South Korean publisher Gamevil has taken over the operator of the digital asset platform Zenaad for an undisclosed amount.

As reported by Pulse, Gamevil plans to build an NFT exchange and develop blockchain-based play-to-earn games.

The acquisition will integrate Zenaad’s blockchain expertise and digital advertising service into Gamevil’s Hive social platform for mobile games.

Additionally, Hive will transition to an open platform that will support game development and facilitate NFT trading.

Gamevil entered the blockchain space for the first time last year with a $ 28 million investment in the Coinone cryptocurrency exchange platform, making it the second largest shareholder.

Through a collaboration with its subsidiary Gamevil Com2us platform, Gamevil plans to open an NFT exchange that will allow users to trade NFT-based assets such as songs and music videos by Korean pop artists.

The company has scheduled the NFT exchange to open in March 2022.

In addition, Gamevil plans to release a number of new blockchain-based games from next year alongside integrating them into its current portfolio.

Last week, Gamevil announced a partnership with Terraform Labs to build a blockchain ecosystem within its flagship title, Summoners War: Chronicles.
