Battlefield 2042 Update # 2 is now live, patch notes released

As promised yesterday, DICE has appeared Battlefield 2042 update 0.2.2 on all platforms in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. The update brought balance changes for weapons and vehicles as well as corrections for critical problems.

The patch notes are as follows:

  • Bullet spread has been reduced on all weapons except shotguns. This should result in better accuracy during the game
  • Increased vertical recoil from PP-29 to ensure the weapon doesn’t get overwhelmed when attacking outside of its intended combat range
  • Fixed an issue where players killed near obstacles such as walls or water could not be resuscitated
  • Fixed cases where players were stuck in a run down state and unable to reappear. We also introduced a hidden timer that activates after 30 seconds in a shutdown state and forces a redeployment if necessary
  • MD540 Nightbird-mounted 20mm cannons – we’re reducing the radius that bullets do damage on impact and reducing their splash damage
    • Reduced explosion radius from 3 to 2
    • The damage of the internal explosion radius was reduced from 1.5 to 0.75. reduced
  • KA-520 Super Hokum – 30mm Side Mount Cannon – we are reducing the total damage and range at which bullets do the full damage while increasing the overall dispersion of bullets
    • Explosion radius from 2 to 1.6. reduced
    • Explosion damage from 20 to 14. reduced
    • Reduced bullet damage before Damage Fall Off starts 18-15
    • Reduced damage dropoff distance from 200 to 180
    • Bullet damage at maximum fall-off distance from 8 to 6. reduced
    • Increased range and dispersion of the projectile
  • AH-64GX Apache Warchief and KA-520 Super Hokum – 30mm cannon – we are reducing the radius in which bullets cause damage on impact and reducing their splash damage
    • Explosion damage from 20 to 18. reduced
    • The damage drop has been increased for enemies farther from the center of the bullet’s impact
  • We have reduced the total damage of the minigun for all land vehicles, while the bullet damage now drops earlier
    • Bullet damage before dropout reduced from 18 to 13
    • Reduced damage dropoff distance from 60 to 40
    • Bullet damage at maximum fall-off distance to 6. reduced
  • The equipped armor type for the LCAA hovercraft has been adjusted, which increases its vulnerability to various weapon types
  • Battlefield Portal – UAV-1
    • The UAV-1 has been reactivated in the Battlefield Portal
    • Significantly reduced delay and speed of health regeneration
    • Increased missile damage against vehicles and infantry
    • The drone is now able to kill enemies
  • Breakthrough matches will now correctly end after the last sector has been captured
  • Fixed an issue that resulted in players queuing for a match on the Battlefield Portal being sent back to the menu instead of joining the match when a slot became available
  • General stability improvements made to prevent rare game crashes

The next big update will go live in early December.
