Electronic Arts announced that Battlefield 2042 has twice as many players as Battlefield V at the same time after publication. This reveal comes amid the dire state of the game and poor review and user reception.
In an article posted on its website, EA reassured players that they are listening carefully to feedback and provided a comprehensive list of the changes that will come via two updates, one of which will be released tomorrow (November 25th) in time for Thanksgiving break .
Interestingly, DICE and EA took note of the viral Reddit post which has a long list of Battlefield Franchise features are “missing” in Battlefield 2042.
“We would also like to give you the certainty that we are carefully examining your wish to return older functions,” says the article. “The end-of-match scoreboard, server browser, and features like voice chat are important issues that we need to cover at once, and we have a lot to say about them. We will get back to you when we have things to show you, including details about our long-term vision for certain features and functions. “
As for the inbound updates, Update # 2 will be released tomorrow, as mentioned earlier, while Update # 3 will be released at an unspecified time in early December. The latter will be a “major” update.
“We’re also working on another update that we plan to deliver before the holidays,” added EA. “In addition to the upcoming updates, we’ll be sharing more about Season 1 in early 2022.”
We’ll update our readers when patch notes are available. In the meantime, read EA’s full article for details on in-depth changes and fixes. It’s a very long read, so grab a cup of coffee and settle in first.
