My.Games works with PlayerWon | Pocket Gamer.biz

The Russian games company My.Games has announced a partnership with the engagement and monetization platform PlayerWon.

The partnership will enable free-to-play game developers to view brand-sponsored videos in the My.Games Store on personal computers using an application programming interface (API).

Players will have the opportunity to watch the brand-sponsored videos and receive in-game rewards such as currencies or items.

The players have supported the integration of the PlayerWon solution into the My.Games Store and it remains in the hands of the developers whether the feature will be implemented.

Surveys by My.Games in the US, Europe and Russia found that 62 percent of players would be willing to watch partner videos in exchange for in-game currency, while slightly more (63 percent) would like to watch in-game items.

Additionally, 55 percent of free mobile game players are willing to watch three or more ads every day.

Follow trends

“It is the dream of most developers to make their game available to as many people as possible from all over the world, and we see a clear trend towards cross-platform projects as well as mobile games that are ported to the PC and PC games are coming to consoles” said Rodion Kotelnikov, store manager at My.Games.

“Developers can find it difficult to move all of the existing mechanisms, such as rewarded videos that are so common in mobile gaming, to other platforms, and this can affect the ability of players to receive rewards, progress and gameplay on an equal footing to have.

“Our partnership with PlayerWon is a first step in our quest to provide the same gaming experiences and opportunities on all platforms – starting with the addition of this new mechanic to some of our F2P PC games. We hope the player experience will be engaging and engaging, and that PC developers will gain insight into new audience behavior. “

With PlayerWon, developers can configure ad APIs according to their needs, from when ads should appear, right through to the reward mechanisms. Relevance in different regions, user impressions and other parameters can also be adjusted.

The first titles to include this feature are Guild of Heroes and Hustle Castle, games that both started on mobile devices and were previously ported to PC.

My.Games recently announced its financial results for the third quarter of 2021, posting steady revenue growth of 2.3 percent to $ 137.2 million, with mobile games accounting for 75 percent of that.
