As early as November 18, the games industry insider Daniel Ahmad published a few pictures of a mysterious, ten-meter-tall Pikachu in front of a new shopping center in Shanghai. Today the reason for the big boi was revealed: it’s part of a partnership between The Pokémon Company and the grand opening of Songjiang INCITY, and it’s also a totem that the smaller dancing pikachus (which are danced at pretty much every event) around , and sometimes empty) can collect.
It’s all part of a much bigger collaboration with even more major Pokémon, pop-up stores, and special mall events:
