PUBG: New State exceeds 20 million downloads in 5 days | Pocket Gamer.biz

Krafton’s most recent entry into the PUBG franchise, PUBG New State, has exceeded 20 million downloads in five days of launch.

The game has topped the App Store and Google Play charts in over 160 countries, including the United States, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Germany.

Regional launch events for New State are ongoing, with the Phase Two Takedown: Troi event kicking off today (Nov. 17) and being hosted by Krafton Americas.

Takedown: Troi is a hybrid competition in which the nine best content creators of the North American New State compete against each other in a unique format.

A new standard

Regarding the success of his latest battle royale title, New State executive producer Minkyu Park said:

“The game’s early success would not have been possible without the enthusiasm and support of our players around the world. With PUBG: New State we wanted to create an immersive experience that would set a new standard for mobile battle royale games. “

“For our future updates, we will work effortlessly to develop new, fun features while improving the stability, optimization and gaming experience of the game.”

New State was one of the most anticipated mobile games of the year, with Krafton claiming the game generated over 50 million pre-registrations.

In addition, New State’s Play With Friends campaign will run through November 21, allowing players to win the #NewStateStyle emote and New State in-game currency, Chicken Medals.
