After a Week full of rumors, the reports turned out to be true as Microsoft released Halo Infinite’s multiplayer more than three weeks earlier. Multiplayer was slated to launch in parallel with the Infinite campaign on December 8th, but now that it’s here to celebrate the franchise’s 20th anniversary, the reactions are already streaming in.
After many gamers figured out how to bypass the Halo Infinite blue screen, Spartans jumped into the Halo Infinite multiplayer beta on PC and Xbox consoles.

Halo MP early is awesome. It’s ready to use and on launch day, players don’t have to choose between Campaign or MP.

How Halos’ early release affected other games
It’s been a stacked year for FPS games with the release of a new Battlefield, Halo, Far Cry, Call of Duty, and more. Some gamers reacted to ticking the other games off their list as Infinite’s favorites, while others joked about the space on their consoles and the stress on Xbox servers with the recent release of Forza Horizon 5.

Now that the game is live, players naturally react to how Halo Infinite feels. Many players are happy with the gameplay and call it incredible. Some are happy with all of the built-in modes, while some players worry about the progress of the Battle Pass, referring to it as an “unpleasant grind”.
“It’s quite a slog,” wrote one user on Reddit. Many players agree and say that the gameplay is fun, but the progression for the Battle Pass is way too slow. Season 1 of the Battle Pass, titled Heroes of Reach, features more than 100 rewards to be earned along with a variety of limited-time events. The season runs until May 2022.
In the meantime, other people also want to see the modes split into different playlists. At the moment Slayer, the main Deathmatch mode, is combined in one large playlist along with the goal-based modes. Many hope that Slayer will be split into another playlist so that it will always be available.
Modes and progression systems can always change in a live service game like Halo Infinite, so it will be interesting to see how these opinions change over time. Overall, however, the impressions seem to be positive – in stark contrast to Battlefield 2042, which is also just starting.
really great to see Halo Infinite fall down with an elaborate ranked playlist with competitive settings. I hope other games with franchise esports programs understand how important this is to the game’s survival.

Some watch #Gloriole Streams and it just feels like more to me. Waiting for a big game that is really innovative, much like Fortnite in building. Not sure what this innovation is, but I haven’t seen Halo for more than a month or so. Thoughts? pic.twitter.com/knps2CDVcs

Played a couple of Halo Infinite games.
* Shooting feels great, the movement takes a lot of getting used to.
* The progress of the Battle Pass is very, very slow.
* Not in love with cards yet.

Halo Infinite feels amazing !!
You can really see how much work there is and I really appreciate an industry that tries to do its best and not just do things for money.
