Dice has revealed its post-launch plans for the first year of Battlefield 2042 and there’s plenty of content for the multiplayer-only title.
Battlefield 2042 is available now for those with early access, and the full title will be out for most on November 19th and more, but according to a new blog post from Dice, this is only that Beginning. In the first year, you can expect multiple seasons and accompanying Battle Passes, new specialists, and possibly some new maps.
“In our first year of live service, we’ll be delivering four seasons of four Battle Passes, four new specialists, and new locations along with fresher content,” says Dice’s blog post. “We also intend to provide updates to the Battlefield Portal that will give players more opportunities to create new Battlefield experiences and share them with the world.”
Continuing on the blog, Dice says that Season 1 is expecting a new Specialist, Battle Pass, and some additional portal content. They even tease that players might see some “new landmarks” (presumably through new maps) over the course of 2042’s story. More details on this will be announced early next year, says Dice.
“During launch, we’re also kicking off the preseason with weekly missions and rewards, time-limited modes, featured creator spotlights and experiences on the Battlefield Portal, and more,” the blog post said.
