Elden Ring could have performance and graphics mode on new generation consoles, according to GameStop’s listing

Elden Ring will have a performance mode and a graphics mode on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, according to the Collector’s Edition listing on GameStop.

First discovered by PushSquareif you go on the Elden Ring Collector’s Edition list for either PS5 or Xbox Series X, you can find all sorts of details about the upcoming open world role-playing game from FromSoftware. In the “Advanced Experience” section of the GameStop listing, it says that Elden Ring will have two game modes.

“The power of [the] new generation of consoles, [Xbox Series X/S and PS5] allows gamers to personalize their experience by choosing between the graphics mode to improve the game’s graphics (up to 4K) or the performance mode for a higher frame rate (up to 60 FPS), ”said the GameStop list.

If this is true, it would be consistent with what we’ve seen in other cross-generational titles. Many games released on both previous and new generation consoles have some sort of quality or graphics mode that is more focused on resolution and a performance mode that focuses on higher frame rates on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S aims. Elden Ring with these two game modes would make sense.

FromSoftware hasn’t officially announced anything like this, however, and for now, the GameStop list is the only indication that Elden Ring will have two game modes. Hopefully we will soon learn more about what to expect from Elden Ring’s gameplay on new generation consoles. Elden Ring launches on February 25th on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
