Traffic Cop 3D, the latest in UK hypercasual outfit Kwalee, has got off to a good start.

In the first two weeks, the game garnered more than 4 million downloads worldwide, bringing Kwalee’s total downloads across the portfolio to 730 million.

Traffic Cop 3D has reached number one on the App Store in 11 countries including the US, UK and Canada.

In addition, the game is represented in the top 10 games in 27 countries and in the top 10 casual games in 41 countries.

In Traffic Cop 3D, players take on the role of traffic cop, scanning cars on the highway and chasing rogue drivers.

The players have the choice of reprimanding the perpetrator or releasing him.

You’re nuts, buddy

“We knew very early on that we could achieve something great with Traffic Cop 3D,” says Kwalee Development Manager Simon Platt.

“Being a cop and driving a police car are things that people immediately understand and that they can identify with from childhood games. Bringing all of this together in a compelling way that empowers the player has been key and we are proud to see by the immediate response that we are achieving this. “

Traffic Cop 3D is the first game to be released under the studio’s new hybrid working model, which combines remote and in-office work from its studios in Leamington Spa, Bangalore and Beijing.

David Darling, CEO of Kwalee added, “Reaching the top of the charts is a feeling we never get tired of, no matter how often we hit it. There’s so much work behind the scenes on great prototypes that never see the light of day, but successes like Traffic Cop 3D validate our entire ‘fail fast’ approach and make it all worthwhile. “
