Bethesda Softworks and iD Software have released a teaser trailer for their upcoming arcade-style Horde mode in Doom Eternal.
The new Horde mode will appear in the upcoming 6.66 update (nice job, Bethesda), which hits the game on October 26th. Bethesda says this update will be the largest free update to Doom Eternal to date.
“Doom Eternals Update 6.66 comes on October 26th,” writes Bethesda in the description of the teaser trailer. “Our biggest free update to date will include the all-new arcade-style Horde mode, Battlemode 2.0 with a new arena and streak-based rewards, two new master levels, and more.”
Not much more was said about the update Bethesda is streaming the new Horde mode tonight for fans who want an early look.
In the teaser trailer, we see Doom Guy preparing for an onslaught of, uh, a horde of enemies to defeat. Even in arcade mode, there is a brief preview of what to expect at the end. We Doom Slayer record a 4x pickup that activates a gold score multiplier. We also see a score tracker in the top right corner next to a wave tracker that tells players what wave of enemies they are on in Horde mode.
It looks fast-paced and especially bloody as you’d expect from Doom Eternal. Update 6.66 goes live next week on October 26th.
