Assassin’s Creed Discovery Tour: Viking Age is now available

Assassin’s Creed Discovery Tour: Viking Age, the free roam education and exploration mode for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla which Ubisoft announced during E3 2021 is available today.

Like Discovery Tours for 2017 Assassin’s Creed Origins and 2018 Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Viking age is both a free extension for those who already own it Valhalla, and is a standalone purchase for Windows PC. It is available from Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store.

Assassin’s Creed Discovery Tour: Viking Age will also launch for Google Stadia and Amazon Luna in early 2022, Ubisoft announced.

The mode removes all fighting and offensive content (mostly nudity) from the base game so it can be used as a teaching aid in classrooms studying this era of world history. However, this tour of discovery will put players in the roles of different characters and give them quests to complete in order to connect them more to the educational message inside.

Ubisoft said that like the others, this tour was developed with input from historians and archaeologists. Viking age offers discovery sites that players can explore to learn more about the culture and traditions of the Vikings and Anglo-Saxons in ninth century England and Norway. The Discovery Sites were developed in collaboration with six museums in three countries – England, France and Denmark.
