If you’re a mobile game developer, you have to be at HDC 2021. Here’s why

It is becoming increasingly clear to Android gamers that there are some ways to play games on their phones / tablets.

Huawei’s superb range of phones comes in a different gaming ecosystem with a different business. It’s called AppGallery and it’s getting stronger by the hour.

If you want to see this growth in action, the Huawei Developer Conference 2021 is the place for you.

HDC 2021 will take place from Friday, October 22nd to Sunday, October 24th and promises to be an indispensable event for gamers, developers and pretty much everyone who works in the mobile games industry.

The theme of this year’s HDC is “Together” and underscores Huawei’s commitment to building a smart, secure and thriving gaming ecosystem. It will boast attendees from around the world as well as an outstanding array of industry speakers.

There will be meetings for developers, executives, and various other stakeholders, several keynotes not to be missed, and a number of key announcements.

Last year’s HDC announced HarmonyOS 2.0, HMS Core 5.0, HiCar, and EMUI 11, and you can almost certainly expect revelations of the same magnitude this year.

In other words, you can’t afford to skip it.

Call to all game developers

Huawei is giving everything for the gaming sector this year. In the past few months alone, the store has welcomed a number of global hits, and you can expect more big announcements at HDC 2021.

Huawei is in constant touch with the world’s leading brands and studios to ensure a steady flow of great IPs into the AppGallery.

There are also games that use flip screen technology, thanks in part to input from Huawei.

Further evidence of Huawei’s intentions can be found in Game Fest, a huge global campaign launched in 2020 to promote games on the AppGallery platform. The initiative, which involved 13 different developers, generated more than 600 million impressions and increased downloads by 90%.

Huawei is an invaluable ally not only for game developers in China, but also for studios around the world hoping to break into China’s vast game market.

It can be difficult to make it in China as there are strict rules on consumer protection and on-screen display. Huawei can take you through this maze of regulations and to the other side.

You can benefit from all of this wisdom at HDC 2021. The show will feature a number of sessions on mobile gaming, including talks on how GameCenter can help you build a next generation gaming experience and grow your business through paid advertising.

Find your next big win

Finding your next big win will be a special highlight, presented by Alexandre Salem, Global Director, Global Gaming Vertical BD, Global Partnerships & Eco-Development Business Dept.

Salem is an industry veteran with over 13 years of banking, strategy consulting, and operational management experience. Prior to joining Huawei, he led Gaming Strategic Partnerships at Google and was Business Performance Director at King, the company behind Candy Crush, Farm Heroes, and others.

The opening keynote, meanwhile, revolves around the topic of “On Track to Map the Future” and includes five speakers. These include:

  • Richard Yu, Executive Director, CEO of the Consumer Business Group, CEO of BU Intelligent Automotive Solution, Huawei
  • David Wang, President of the AI and All-Scenario Intelligence Business Unit, Huawei Consumer Business Group
