Looks like Dune is coming to Fortnite

Fortnite has never shied away from having big brands in its games, so it’s not surprising that the newest addition to the metaverse is dune. The upcoming film with Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides and Zendaya as Chani has now been Fortnite-ified, according to a Twitter leak from HYPEX:

The Zendaya model looks pretty much true to its real-life counterpart in these high-resolution screenshots:

But who is this guy? This is not Timmy Chalamet, heartthrob star of Call me by your name, Little woman, and pretty much every other blockbuster movie right now:

In addition to the most popular Muad’Dib and his best friend / lover, Fortnite players also have the option of wearing Chani’s satchel, a “Fremkit” that looks almost exactly like Chani’s satchel, riding an ornithopter and making hooks and twinblades as Harvesting tools. There’s also a new emote, the “Sand Walk” – make sure those worms can’t see your rhythm – and a loading screen that shows a very Fortnite take on a sandworm that has been crossed with fish fingers.

We’re just a little surprised that the Crysknife and Gom Jabbar weren’t made into weapons. Come on! These things write to themselves! Let’s play as a sandworm too, you cowards.

The Dune cosmetics and characters will be introduced as part of Chapter 2, Season 8. There are no pricing details (though Placeholder prices have been leaked) and no release date yet, although HYPEX speculates that they will arrive “tonight / tomorrow“- that’s October 18 or 19 – when the store updates at 8 p.m. ET.

So, Dune fans: thoughts? Let us know in the comments. And remember: whoever controls the spice controls the battle bus.
