Nintendo Switch Online + expansion pack release date and prices announced

Update (10/15/11) – Nintendo has confirmed that the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack will be officially released on October 25, 2021.

In addition, the new Switch versions of the Nintendo 64 and SEGA Genesis controllers can now be pre-ordered for those who have a Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Nintendo announced that the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership, which gives Switch owners access to N64 and SEGA games in addition to the Happy Home Paradise DLC from Animal Crossing: New Horizons, is $ 49.99 per year will cost – an increase of $ 30 over standard membership.

If you have other Switch owners in your family, a family membership that can support up to eight Nintendo Account owners costs $ 79.99 for 12 months. Except for the end of October, no release date was given.

For comparison, the current Nintendo Switch Online membership is $ 3.99 for one month, $ 7.99 for three months, and $ 19.99 for 12 months. Family membership is $ 34.99 for 12 months.

As mentioned earlier, the Expansion Pack provides access to N64 games like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64, and Mario Kart 64; SEGA games like Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Ecco the Dolphin, and Streets of Rage 2; and Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Happy Home Paradise DLC, which costs $ 24.99 alone.

Nintendo Switch Online members can also purchase full-size Nintendo 64 and SEGA Genesis wireless controllers to play these classic titles as you remember playing them.

That news was announced on the same day as the latest Animal Crossing Direct, which revealed Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 2.0, bringing Brewster and its cafe The Roost, other fan-favorite Villagers, Gyroids, Island Ordinances, and more next to the Happy Home Paradise DLC that allows you to design the villagers’ dream homes on a new archipelago.

Nintendo also announced that these updates would be the final major updates to the game, which has sold over 33 million copies since its release in March 2020.
