Binge and Nightdive Studios are partnering to produce a live-action series based on the critically acclaimed System Shock franchise.
IGN decoded a message in cyberspace and discovered that System Shock is being turned into a live-action television series produced by Allan Ungar, who directed and co-wrote the Uncharted fan film that went viral a few years ago. Stephen Kick and Larry Kuperman of Nightdive Studios will both be executive producers on the project.
The original System Shock game transports players to Citadel Station, where a contracted hacker wakes up from a coma, only to find himself in the twisted aftermath of a mutiny and immediately faced with armies of cyborgs, robots, and a corrupt AI called SHODAN who takes control of operations and threatens to trigger terror on the space station.
“I’ve always believed that it was a live-action adaptation of System Shock would be the perfect medium to retell the harrowing story of the Citadel station and its renegade AI that exposes the crew to an unimaginable horror, ”said Kick, CEO and founder of Nightdive. “We are very excited that the talented team at Binge is bringing System Shock to life in terrifyingly real and new ways.”
The live action system shock The series will be released exclusively on Binge, a brand new streaming platform dedicated to delivering top-notch entertainment to gamers. Binge’s streaming service will launch in 2022 with a library of original series and shows inspired by popular video games that will be streamed for free on any internet-connected device.

System Shock joins Binge’s original list of contents, which also includes an adaptation of the Driver video games that “focus on undercover agent and ex-racing car driver John Tanner trying to take out a criminal syndicate.” This series is produced by Vincent Talenti of Ungar and Binge with a team of executive producers from Ubisoft Film & Television.
