Brawl Pass

Developer Note: This has been difficult to implement over time, but we are happy to offer you a fully functional Brawl Pass with Deep Space Dispatches with background information about the DJ and Z3R0. We are very excited to share this with all of you.

Crew horns, new player voices and crew motorcycles

Developer Note: It feels strange just listing these features as bullet points as there is so much in each of them, from creation to implementation. My favorite is to pair the Z3R0 voice with the [REDACTED] Motorcycle. Let us know what you think!

The Brawl Shop now has even more new items for sale. Where players once saw empty store slots in daily items, they will now see XP boosts, energy drinks and style chips. Spend this hard earned holobux out. The Brawl Shop will also no longer attempt to sell items that players have already bought in bundles.

Developer Note: Z3R0 must have hacked the bundle shop records and made them available to the daily items. Regularly change your passwords, thugs.

We want our Diamond Brawlers to have the experience of climbing the leaderboards and not get confused by why their Skill Rating is increasing or decreasing. An improved skill rating system for ranking on the leaderboard makes this more predictable based on wins and losses; Profits always cause the skill value to increase, and losses always cause the skill value to decrease. The highest skill rating is now 5000. You can read more about it here.

Developer Note: With Season 2 we introduced Leaderboards, a highly requested feature from our top players who wanted to see how they compare to other top players. Once players reached the top tier, Diamond, we used their skill rating to place them within that tier. But we got a lot of feedback on how the skill rating was calculated and changed after the games. Now the skill rating will get higher and higher when you win and decrease when you lose, depending on how well the game was tuned for each team. We’ll be watching Season 3 progress and tweak some stats behind the scenes, so please keep giving us your feedback.

Improved visibility of the danger zone in face-off mode by making it higher.

Style of play

Balls thrown from teammates will no longer charge beyond the first level if caught perfectly, which is how the passing game works

Fixed a number of issues that could result in an accidental knockout of a teammate being counted as an assist

Fixed an issue where improper throwing of an untargeted charged ball could charge and throw it at an opponent without warning

Throwing balls will no longer be tracked at a player thrown as an Ultimate

The selection of spawn points has been optimized to reduce the chances of respawning players spawning near a player from another team


Fixed an issue that caused Xbox Series S players to experience reduced sharpness and image quality

Voice chat

Fixed a case where the “You have left voice chat” notification could get stuck on screen when disconnected due to lack of activity.

Fixed an issue that sometimes caused voice chat to stop working when pausing and resuming on Switch

Groups and friends

Fixed a crash that could occur when scrolling through the friends list when there were many friends online and offline

Fixed some issues that could cause friend requests to disappear very quickly

Fixed some cases where a player joining a group that started either training or a private game would end up alone in hiding or be put into a private game if the group leader abandoned matchmaking at the last moment


Fixed a scrolling issue with league leaderboards where scrolling up would sometimes not properly display the top entry.


Fixed a walkway in the concussion courtyard that could allow the player to fall if walking in ball shape while jumping

The invisible ceiling in Back Alley Brawl has been adjusted to prevent ball-shaped characters thrown high into the air from being KO’d

One of the tarps on the wall in Back Alley Brawl has been fixed so that players cannot walk along it


The contract display in the hiding place is no longer displayed if the player does not have any incomplete contracts


Fixed an issue where the use of Change Teams in the main menu would sometimes not display the selected color when the player stopped playing.
