Wooga Introduces Magic-themed Match 3 Switchcraft | Pocket Gamer.biz

Playtika-owned Wooga announced the launch of Switchcraft worldwide.

Switchcraft is a free, casual narrative mobile game that features interactive story play and match-3 gameplay.

Players will follow the game’s protagonist, Bailey Ward, as she embarks on a journey to discover her magical powers in her small Massachusetts town detailed in a unique graphic novel style.

Wooga has stated that Switchcraft has a “majority BIPOC cast” and that it has a strong female lead that sets it apart from other casual puzzle games.

In addition, greater diversity is shown throughout the game’s narrative, including sexuality, disability, and nationality.

With Switchcraft, Wooga built on its track record of creating narrative games like June’s Journey.

A magical journey awaits you

“Wooga has been working on Switchcraft for several years, but the team’s ability to bring this game to market in the last 18 months in the most difficult of circumstances has been incredible to us,” said Wooga CEO Nai Chang.

“I would especially like to thank all of the Wooga employees who contributed to this amazing achievement and enabled us to take the next step in our journey to fulfill our vision of becoming the story-driven casual gaming player’s first choice and ours To fulfill purpose, to inspire joy in work and play. “

Playtika Co-Founder, CEO and Chairman Robert Antokol added, “The global launch of Switchcraft adds further meaning to an already remarkable year for Playtika, which began with our IPO in January.

“Wooga is a unique studio with a high level of craftsmanship in the games they create, and this is a milestone for the studio. It is also a very significant development for Playtika, resulting from our strategic focus on new game development and our establishment of a specialist team dedicated to developing and launching new top notch casual games. “

In addition to English, Switchcraft is available in Danish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian (Bokmål), Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Swedish.

Switchcraft is available now for iOS and Android devices worldwide.

At the beginning of the year we spoke to Wooga author Amanda Gicharu about her trip from East Africa to Berlin.
