Joe Shely, who worked on World of Warcraft and DIablo 3, has taken over the helm of Diablo 4.
The previous director, Luis Barriga, was fired from Activision Blizzard in August on charges of harassment and abuse within Blizzard. Barriga had been with Blizzard since 2006 and was fired along with level designer Jesse McCree and WoW designer Jonatan LeCraft. In her post today, Shely briefly addressed the ongoing allegations.
“Like many of you, our team has pondered recent events,” Shely wrote. “A lot has happened since our last blog and the hard work in practicing the values we strive for must continue. In parallel with this important work, the development of Diablo IV continues.”
