Coffee Talk is a cool little game released last January that deals with brewing hot cups of bean juice while you chat with your colorful guests and swing to a relaxing soundtrack. Baristas looking to reopen a store should be happy to learn that a sequel called Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly is coming next year.
Like the first game, this visual novel-style adventure revolves around preparing a variety of savory concoctions for your troubled customers. In an alternate fantasy version of modern day Seattle, visitors can be humans, elves, werewolves, vampires, and other mythological races. You’ll serve recurring favorites like writer Freya and cop Jorji, while first-time visitors include Rionna, an aspiring opera singer, and the mysterious blue-haired woman at the end of the trailer.
The core of this relaxed, urban fantasy experience is listening to your client’s personal stories as you brew special drinks that influence dialogue. Episode 2 doesn’t seem radically different from the first game, but fans who enjoy Coffee Talk can be content with simply getting more of it with some new faces and storylines.
Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly will be released sometime in 2022 for PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well as Switch.
