Discover the magic of every life and the complex emotions when you say goodbye to an important phase in your life Not at home anymore, available now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S.
Not at home anymore is a life story about Ao and Bo, two queer, non-binary students who recently graduated and are preparing to leave their apartment for a year.
Due to visa restrictions, Ao is forced to return to Japan and leave Bo in England. Disillusioned with life after their education and pushed aside by a government that doesn’t want them there, both try to come to terms with their uncertain future.
Not at home anymore is a semi-autobiographical game that was born when we, Hana and Cel, the game’s developers, were similarly separated after graduating from college and decided to keep in touch by working on a game together. We chose this project to explore and express the emotions that came with parting.
With magical realism elements like the new multi-eyed, animal-like roommate and strange objects that appear in the apartment, Not at home anymore explores the magic of everyday life and how difficult it can be to leave a section of your life behind.
Not at home anymore is our first game release. Since it is semi-autobiographical it was an emotional journey to create and we hope you find a personal resonance in the topics that are relatable to everyone. We hope you enjoy discovering it Not at home anymore.
