Developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has announced that it is working on a sequel Yakuza: Like a dragonalthough the news was accompanied by confirmation that serial producer Toshihiro Nagoshi is indeed leaving SEGA, as previously rumored.
On the company’s official website, Nagoshi-san said:
As I am leaving SEGA, I am also leaving my position as head of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. Thank you to the fans who have supported us and the Yakuza series for many years. My sincere and deepest thanks go to you.
Masayoshi Yokoyama, Director and Executive Producer at RGGS, meanwhile, has confirmed that the team is working on the next yakuza game.
The predecessors of Ryu Ga Gotoku passed their beliefs and know-how on to every single employee. You can witness it in the recently released Lost Judgment, and you will see it in the upcoming Yakuza: Like a Dragon sequel, which will continue the story of Ichiban Kasuga.
This game is currently being developed by producer Sakamoto and directors Horii, Ito and Mitake. I am working on the story with Takeuchi and Furuta.
