MGVC invests in Tworogue Games and Wideview Games | Pocket Gamer.biz

My.Games Venture Capital, VC arm of mobile games company My.Games, has invested $ 3 million in three European studios: Vox, Tworogue Games and Wideview Games.

In all three pre-seed deals, MGVC acquired minority interests in the studios, with the option to acquire control at a later date.

Over four years since its inception, MGVC has invested $ 20 million and consolidated 8 studios. The division’s portfolio now includes more than 40 studios.

Building for the future

Wideview Games, based in Minsk, was founded in 2016 and consists of a team of 20 and is currently developing two casual mobile F2P games to be released in 2022.

Moscow-based Vox Studio was founded in 2020 and currently consists of 16 employees working on the Vox voice dating app. Vox maintains a voice library with over 14 million voice recordings, equivalent to 8.5 years of audio.

MGCV invested in Vox to expand its investment areas with a potential “future synergy” of the group’s entire product portfolio.

Tworogue Games, also based in Moscow, was founded in 2016 and currently employs 17 people currently working on developing a free mid-core hero collector RPG for mobile devices.

Tworogue plans to release the game in 2022.

“We look at the market as a whole and are investing in studios that work in high-reach, high-revenue genres,” said Nikita Matsokin, MGVC Executive Producer.

“At the same time, we are focusing specifically on genres that we do not yet have in the MY.GAMES portfolio, which could significantly expand our expertise. One of our development goals is to fully diversify the gaming portfolio with the possibility of further diversification. Integration of the products of the partner studios into the uniform ecosystem of the group. “

Elsewhere, My.Games has acquired Belarus-based Hypercasual developer and publisher Mamboo Games for $ 2 million.
