AppLovin to Buy Twitter’s MoPub for $ 1 Billion | Pocket Gamer.biz

Mobile advertising company AppLovin has reached a definitive agreement with Twitter to acquire the MoPub mobile advertising network for $ 1.05 billion in cash.

MoPub software is used by over 45,000 mobile apps to manage monetization and reaches 1.5 billion addressable users worldwide.

AppLovin stated that it intends to integrate MoPub’s reach and capabilities with its existing mobile ad platform to maximize revenue growth and improve efficiency.

During 2020, MoPub generated $ 188 million in revenue for Twitter, representing nearly 5.9 percent of the company’s 2020 advertising revenue.

The transaction is expected to close in the next year, with completion of the transaction subject to customary terms and conditions and regulatory approvals.

“Strategic Transaction”

“We are excited about the opportunity through this strategic transaction to further expand the AppLovin platform and further enhance our publisher monetization tools,” said AppLovin Co-Founder and CEO Adam Foroughi.

“We welcome the MoPub team and will work together diligently to bring the best of MoPub into the AppLovin software platform.”

On the sale of MoPub, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey added, “This transaction strengthens our focus and demonstrates confidence in our roadmap for conversational sales products.

“We thank the incredible teams and customers who have helped make MoPub a success within Twitter over the years.”

Earlier this year, AppLovin formalized its initial public offering on the NASDAQ exchange with a valuation of $ 29 billion and raised $ 2 billion through the sale of 25 million shares.
