Strategic to survive.
Square Enix has certainly kept things interesting with some unique new games. The latest is Dungeon Encounters, a single player dungeon exploration RPG that was just announced on the Tokyo Games Show.
The obligatory connection to Final Fantasy this time comes from director Hiroyuki Ito and producer Hiroaki Kato. It doesn’t play like a Final Fantasy game for the most part, however. Instead, players compete in Dungeon Encounters in a 2D grid against 100 levels of strategic challenges. It is up to you to plan and prepare to overcome the numerous obstacles and defeat monsters to reach the deepest level of the dungeon.
Players can enjoy a newly polished and refined version of FINAL FANTASY’s classic Active Time Battle (ATB) system, provided by original creator Hiroyuki Ito. DUNGEON ENCOUNTERS features a wide variety of fantasy-inspired characters from character designer Ryoma Ito, giving players a unique take on the dungeon crawler genre and the ability to customize their team to effectively overcome the challenges and obstacles. Fans can also enjoy a soundtrack, curated by Music Director Nobuo Uematsu, with a modern take on classic tracks as they test their minds and venture through the many levels of DUNGEON ENCOUNTERS.
Dungeon Encounters will be available on October 14th and can now be pre-ordered from Nintendo eShop at the discounted price of $ 23.99 (20% savings). You can find more information at www.square-enix-games.com.
